7th JanuaryJanuary 7th. Marin and me spend our day out to different meetings. Back at home, I absolutely want to cook breads (I love baking every kind of breads, sometimes I wonder if I missed my vocation) so I bake a few French baguettes. Marin loves it.

7th JanuaryJanuary 5th. The day is starting with a photoshoot with my best childhood friend in the village where I was born. Marin comes with me for Sheriff to have more time painting. He is here on my chest, well wrapped in the mei tai, sometimes eating biscuits or standing to catch the grass. After that, we head up at Marin’s great-grandparents place and have a very filling dinner.

Today, I was away for a photoshoot, and when I come back home with Camille, the beautiful red head model whose Marin met last year, he is very intrigued and keep trying to open the door when she takes a bath. Finally, she is dressed and open the door, Marin could not wait any more minute and came in to say hello.

Jardin fleuris is a series representing the different ages of a woman. The first picture is called Virgin Soil, the second is called Mûres which means both “blackberries” and “mature” represent puberty and first periods, the third picture is called Broken Eggs. Broken eggs represent the loss of virginity in arts. The fourth photo is called Blossom in the Garden and represent a mother with her inner fertile garden. By Alexandra Sophie.

Today, I am finally starting a 365! Here is our first picture, taken without thinking of the project. Since a few weeks, Marin refuse to fall asleep alone, and in order to keep him having as much sleep as he needs, after drinking his evening milk, we keep him in our arms or sleep next to him in bed until he is gone into dream land. Guess who is always falling asleep first?

ENGLISH - My name is Alexandra Sophie, I am a young mother of a wonderful little boy whose name come from the sea. I look at my son with heart shaped eyes and take care of him with heart shaped arms while never-ending hugs. I'm also a photographer, and owe a lot to this passion. It made me find and create love.
We got gifted of an incredible nature, and we find it important not to make our son's little new life being one more destructive and disrespectful for our planet, but as every parents want to, we want to bring him what we think are the best things for him. He was born in late October 2011, making each day brighter than the previous one. Soon he will be making his own journey. We will be proud to know he grew with us. We are teaching him English, French and some basic sign language. We are living in France, and our suitcases are always prepared for last minutes trips.
I mainly hold this blog to record who we are, as a family. A diary that I'm sending to our children in the future. I want to share images, our memories and the ones of others which may inspire. I want to share articles which may interest anyone out there, about parenting or not. Videos, texts or photographic work, it's what make us. A big tidy-messy mix of everything we are.
FRANCAIS - Mon nom est Alexandra Sophie, et je suis la jeune maman d'un merveilleux petit garçon, qui a un nom qui vient de la mer. Je regarde mon fils avec des yeux en forme de coeurs. Je suis également photographe, et dois beaucoup à cette passion ; c'est grâce à elle que j'ai découvert et créé mes amours.
Nous bénéficions d'une nature incroyable et nous trouvons important de ne pas faire de la toute nouvelle vie de notre bébé, une de plus qui sera irrespectueuse pour notre planète, tout en souhaitant comme tout les parents, lui apporter le meilleur. Il est né fin octobre 2011, rendant depuis, chaque jour plus merveilleux que le précédent. Bientôt, il marchera sur ses propres jambes et fera son propre voyage. Nous serons fiers de savoir qu'il a grandit avec nous! Nous lui apprenons l'anglais, le français et quelques mots en langue des signes. Nous vivons en France, et nos valises sont toujours prêtes pour des voyages de dernière minute.
Si je tiens ce blog, c'est d'abord pour garder une trace de qui nous sommes, en tant que famille. Un journal du passé que j'envoie à nos enfants. Je veux aussi partager des images, des souvenirs et ceux des autres qui peuvent inspirer. Je souhaite partager des articles qui peuvent intéresser quelqu'un, à propos de maternité ou non. Vidéos, textes, ou aussi nos travaux photographiques. Un grand bazar rangé de tout ce que nous aimons.
